Busy summer of competition, training and recovery for our MightySat athlete ambassadors

For Ironman champion Michael Weiss, the seventh time was the charm at Ironman Austria. The Austrian native finally triumphed in his seventh attempt at his home race using the best bike split of the day to power his path to victory. “It’s always special to race on home soil, but this year the cheering crowds were truly a reason for my success. I still have goose bumps hearing the crowds cheering me on!”

After concluding a busy racing block that wrapped with a runner up result at the Ironman 70.3 Raleigh, Heather Jackson shifted her focus to train for upcoming long course events that culminate with the Ironman World Championships on Kona in October. The tatted blond champion is on lockdown preparing for Ironman Lake Placid, taking place in New York on July 22, no doubt carefully relying on her MightySat as part of her training and recovery regimen. Jackson’s coach and MightySat athlete ambassador colleague Joe Gambles raced his way to a sensational second place finish at last month’s arduous Ironman Boulder.

A healthy Taylor Fritz made us proud during his second-round match at The Championships Wimbledon, looking well on his way to pulling off a major upset against the fourth seed Alexander Zverev after taking a two sets to one lead. Instead of harnessing the momentum to capture the third set required to advance to the next round, darkness fell thereby forcing play to be suspended until the next day. Overnight, Zverev was able to rebound to eliminate the emerging young American, who impressed at the iconic grass court major.

Our motocross/supercross superstar Zach Osborne will not be able to ride for a fourth consecutive national motocross championship after getting tangled up in a nasty crash last month at the Thunder Valley National Motocross in Lakewood, Colorado. Osborne tore the labrum in his shoulder. Heroically, he remounted and finished the race, but underwent surgery to repair the damage a few days later. Unfortunately, this knocked him out of competition the rest of the outdoor season. However, he’s got a new companion by his side: Zach’s son was born on June 28. Congrats to the Osbornes!
